Simon Walton joined QPR from Charlton in July 2007 for £200,000.
The 19-year-old midfielder signed a three-year deal at Loftus Road and, in doing so, became John Gregory's seventh arrival of the summer, following in the footsteps of Chris Barker, Danny Nardiello, John Curtis, Michael Mancienne, Ben Sahar and Lee Camp.
A tough-tackling, no-nonsense footballer, Simon came through the ranks at his boyhood Club Leeds United and was a regular in the side at the age of just 16.
He went on to make 37 appearances in all competitions for the Whites, before joining Charlton for a fee of £500,000 at the start of the 2006/07 season.
Iain Dowie's surprise early sacking at The Valley disrupted Walton's progress, and he spent time on loan at Ipswich Town and Cardiff City.
Walton suffered a fractured fibula against Fulham in pre-season, but returned to the first team squad in December.
