Mikele Leigertwood began his career with Wimbledon, for whom he made 65 appearances in all competitions.
After a stint on loan at Leyton Orient, the 6'4 destroyer made a £155,000 switch to Iain Dowie's Crystal Palace side in January 2004.
He went on to star in their 2004 Play-Off success, before making a further 23 appearances for Palace during 2004/05, and scoring his first goal for the Eagles against Tottenham Hotspur.
Leigertwood joined Sheffield United in July 2006, with the Blades paying a £600,000 compensation fee, for the player, who although out of contract, was under 24 years of age at the time.
Arriving at the start of United's Premiership season, Leigertwood forced his way into the Blades starting XI and produced a number of promising performances before suffering an ankle injury that was to interrupt the remainder of his season.
Leigertwood made four appearances for the Blades at the start of the 2006/07 campaign, before joining QPR for an undisclosed fee on the final day of the summer transfer window.
