It was with much regret and great sadness that the members of QPR Official Supporters Club Committee learnt that our Chairman, Ron Bannister, died suddenly last Saturday, 14th July 2007.

The QPR Official Supporters Club committee send there heartfelt sympathy to Teresa, Ron's wife, and to all his family at this very sad time.

Teresa recently said that QPR was one of Ron's 'greatest loves'. At the age of ten, Ron and good friend Alan Pepper went to Stamford Bridge, but in Ron's words: "We never really liked the place. We tried QPR and that was it - hooked for life."

Despite a very busy work schedule, Ron has served the QPR Official Supporters Club committee for 10 years.

He was delighted when he was elected as Chairman, a role that he richly deserved and one which he fulfilled with boundless enthusiasm, kindness and always a good sense of humour.

Ron was the brains behind the fund raising QPR Quiz Nights, which never failed to be a success and were enjoyed by many QPR supporters and staff.

R.I.P. Ron...You are already, and always will be hugely missed by all your fellow committee members, both past and present; by the many QPR supporters who came to know and laugh with you over the years; and by all the Club personnel who you forged a working and social relationship within your capacity as Chairman of the QPR Official Supporter Club and as a QPR fan.
