Dexter Blackstock dedicated his late, late leveller against Preston on Saturday to injured team-mate Rowan Vine.

Vine suffered a broken leg in training on Thursday, and Blackstock revealed that the team decided prior to the game against the Lilywhites that should they score, they would show their thoughts were with Vine by displaying a 'V' to the crowd.

"We all had a chat about it in the dressing room before kick off," he revealed, "and we said that if any of us score, we would dedicate it to Rowan by showing a 'V' to the fans.

"I went to see him at his home after the match on Saturday with Mikele Leigertwood, and he's in good spirits. A few of the other lads went to see him in Hospital on Friday to try and give him a bit of a lift.

"He's a bubbly character and he's still as lively as ever. I am sure he will come back even stronger."

Blackstock completed a stunning revival for Rangers, after Gareth Ainsworth had initially halved the 2-0 deficit in the 89th minute.

"I just remember Gaz getting down the right and getting past his man," recalled Blackstock, whose header hit the back of the net deep in injury time.

"With Gaz, you know he is going to deliver, so as soon as he got the better of the full-back, I got across my marker. Thankfully I managed to glance it in."

Blackstock's equaliser was his fourth of the season, and he admitted: "It was a massive goal for me, personally.

"It's always nice to score at that end of the pitch and it felt great to get a point from the game when it looked like we were out of it.

"You could argue that perhaps we didn't deserve the draw, but that's football. We've been robbed enough times ourselves in the last few weeks, so it was about time we did the robbing!"

"We didn't play as well as we have been recently, and when you're 2-0 down with a minute to go, you don't think you're going to be able to get anything from the match.

"But Gaz came on and changed the game for us."
