R's loanee Jason Jarrett is in buoyant mood ahead of his home debut against Norwich City on Monday night.

The 28 year-old midfielder, who joined the R's from Preston North End on a three month loan deal on Tuesday, is licking his lips at the prospect of pulling on the famous Blue and White Hooped jersey against the Canaries at Loftus Road.

"I'm looking forward to it immensely," Jarrett told www.qpr.co.uk.

"I've played at Loftus Road a few times throughout my career and it's a nice, tight ground and hopefully we can give our supporters something to shout about.

"It's a TV game too which is always an extra incentive and fingers crossed we can get a win under our belts before the international break."

JJ, as he has already been christened by his new team-mates, was honest enough to admit that Wednesday's defeat to Colchester United was a bit of an eye-opener for him.

"Wednesday night was a bit of a baptism of fire for me," he said.

"I'd only trained with the lads briefly before the game so it was always going to be difficult, but I was quite pleased with my contribution.

"Obviously the result wasn't ideal, but I felt we did enough over the 90 minutes, and especially early on, to get something from the game."

Jarrett added: "Moving here on loan represents a fantastic opportunity for me to kick on with my career.

"I was delighted to get the call and now I want to show the Rangers fans what I can do."
