Queens Park Rangers Football Club is in mourning today following the tragic news that striker Ray Jones died in a motor accident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 18 year-old was involved in an accident in East Ham and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision occurred at approx 00:20am on Saturday August 25 in High Street, South East Ham, E6.

Two other teenagers also died in the accident.

They have been formally identified as Idris Olasupo and Jess Basilva.

Two other males were taken to hospital after the incident. One, aged 16, was the front seat passenger and is described as walking wounded. The second is a 17 year-old male, who was a rear seat passenger. He remains in hospital in a serious condition with head and pelvic injuries.

Everyone at Queens Park Rangers extends their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of all those involved at this sad time.

The Club will be no making no further comment at this stage and we ask you respect our wishes as we grieve for our young striker.
